Summer in New England

We can't wait to welcome Nana, Pop Pop, Aunt Susan, Uncle John, ZaZa and Anna to

the Wilds of West Boylston!

Here's just a few things we're planning for their visit in late June/early July.

Big Day Itineraries:

Mystic Connectiut - Where we'll touch stingrays, visit Julia Robert's stomping ground and board 18th century sailing vessels...

Essex County - We'll wander the witches' way of Salem after marveling at one of the most beautiful museum in New England, lunching at Cafe Kushco and ending the day with a sunset swim at Salisbury Beach.

...and, of course, Boston!  We decided to choose just a few places that the little ones might enjoy.  As they get bigger, we can let the Dadas take them on tours of respective educational institutions...until then, we'll be checking out the world famous Children's Museum, historic and beautiful Castle Island playground with lunchsupplied by the Barking Crab!

Most imporatntly, we just want to have most of days spent playing and hanging out with each other.  For these days, our local area has a great deal to offer in terms of quick, fun day-trips, including the following:

...And after days filled with playing, giggling and chasing little people, it's time to return back to the barn to put on some pirate music, dance to zydeco and eat some yum yums...like the following!

New England Clam Bake  - Lobster, steamers, cobcorn, roasted potatoes

Ye Olde Englande Foodee..eeee - Toad in the Hole, Rarebit, and Pickles

Grilled Surf and Turf with shrimp and fillets in a brandy basil cream sauce

Andrew's Handmade Baked Lasagna - Andrew makes the dough and hand-cranks the noodles!

Indian prawns with Okra Madras, Naan, Briyani and Major Grey's Chutney

and don't forget Andy's Beignets, Andrew's Omelettes (he makes a mean cheese omelette!), Colin's Crepes (alright, he doesn't make them, but he sure eats a lot!) and Heather's Strata to start the day off.

More to share soon!

Love,

Heather, Andy, Colin and Roo!
